If you are referring to this site, there is not trade body to say whose opinions are right or wrong. This exchange is young so there are not as many advisors on the subject as there should be. In an ideal world, we could rely on the wisdom of large groups to guide people in forums like this one.

As for me, I currently work for a company that is developing a virtual currency platform. As a marketing manager for that company, I was required to become an well read on virtual currency and virtual goods. I may still be wrong; but I will do my best.

In that sense, I am biased a little towards evangelizing the adoption of virtual currencies. On that same note, if someone asks if they should try to implement a virtual currency or not; I will do my best to give them objective advice while letting them know where my biases lie.
